The Grande Récolte vintages from Château de Berne bear the Côtes de Provence designation of origin, an AOC recognized since 1977 for its complex geology and Mediterranean climate which offer fruity and fresh wines.
If we mainly know the rosé wines of Provence , the GR vintage also produces excellent red wines and white wines.
Rosé Grande Récolte AOP Côtes de Provence
Composed of 3 major black grape varieties, which are Syrah, Grenache and Cinsault, the Grande Récolte de Berne rosé is the result of a meticulous blend which works wonders every year.
The Grande Récolte rosé is therefore presented in its iconic square bottle. This vintage is a timeless reference for Côtes de Provence rosé wines. Served at 10°C, the wine offers a magnificent light peach color and full of shine, and a fruity and expressive nose.
On the palate, the aromas of vine peach make it the ideal wine to accompany summer fruits and vegetables, and Provençal recipes. The GR rosé cuvée also exists in a limited winter edition.
Red Grande Récolte AOP Côtes de Provence
Although red wine production is not very popular in Provence, Château de Berne can boast of making a unique Grande Récolte red .
Composed of a blend of Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Grenache Noir, this Berne Grande Récolte vintage is undeniably a traditional wine from Provence.
This AOC Côtes de Provence red wine has a pretty garnet color, with purple reflections, and a nose clearly revealing flavors of black fruits, liquorice, Ente plum and pepper. It goes wonderfully with Mediterranean recipes, cold meats and grilled meats, thanks to its supple attack and spicy finish.
White Grande Récolte AOP Côtes de Provence
The winemakers of Bern use 3 white grape varieties typical of the south of France, which are Rolle, Ugni Blanc and Sémillon, to produce an authentic Grande Récolte white .
The GR white wine from Château de Berne then reveals a brilliant color, a pretty intense yellow, with sometimes some golden highlights. Its very complex nose releases lemony notes and aromas of stone fruits. When tasting, the attack is frank and gives way to a rather fresh finish. The Grande Récolte white wine has all the qualities to accompany noble fish, Provençal vegetables, or fine white meat.
