Nos meilleurs vins à boire pour un apéritif

Our best wines to drink for an aperitif

Opening a good bottle of wine is always a great way to start a meal. So, from the aperitif, it's about finding the best wine to taste alone, or to accompany appetizers and other delicacies. We have therefore selected for you our best wines for aperitifs .

Wine for an aperitif: the possibilities available to you

Wine lovers and novices alike always find themselves uncertain when faced with the multitude of types of wine to taste as an aperitif . Red wines, white wines or rosé wines, we will enlighten you on the different choices.

Rosé wine as an aperitif

Rosé wines are undeniably the stars of aperitifs with friends , but they also prove to be a very good choice to start a meal. Savored with olives and chips, or with gourmet dishes for a more elaborate dinner aperitif, rosé wine offers beautiful freshness and fruity aromas which find their place very easily on aperitif tables.

We will then try to avoid rosé wines with a high alcohol content, which we will reserve for the main course.

White wine as an aperitif

White wines are also enjoyed with aperitifs , and in particular sweet and fresh wines , with floral notes, such as a good chardonnay or a wine from the Loire Valley. They can then be enjoyed alone, or as an accompaniment to small canapes or other raw vegetables.

Sweet wines are also there, and seduce with their sweet and generous flavors. You will then have to be careful not to choose a wine that is too sweet, so as not to saturate your taste buds from the start of the meal. We therefore avoid sweet wines as an aperitif.

Red wine as an aperitif

Often reserved for accompanying the main course, red wines nevertheless have their place as an aperitif . You just need to choose it light, with delicious fruity aromas. For this, red wines made from Gamay or Pinot Noir will work wonders with aperitifs based on cold meats, cheese, or products from Mediterranean cuisine.

However, we avoid wines with too pronounced tannins and a high alcohol content.

Sparkling wines as an aperitif

Finally, although we tend to reserve sparkling wines for dessert, they are nevertheless welcome as an aperitif, where their fine bubbles and freshness will pair perfectly with appetizers. You can then turn to a bottle of Champagne or Crémant , but you can also go more original, with a sparkling rosé wine.
