La route des vins en Provence

The Wine Route in Provence

Known worldwide, the Vine's Wine Route takes us from vineyard to vineyard, to discover the greatest pink, red and white wines in the region. Meet a terroir and traditions of one of the most beautiful heritage in France.

Discover the Route des Vins de Provence

Distributed over 3 departments in the south of France (Var, Bouches-du-Rhône and a small village in the Alpes-Maritimes), the Vins de Provence has no less than 8 appellations and several roads of Provence wines. Among these, there are 3 appellations which have a route from the wines dedicated to them.

The Route des Vins de Coteaux d'Aix en Provence

The AOC Coteaux of Aix en Provence covers 4,200 hectares of vineyards and mainly produces rosés. You will also find some winegrowers that produce white wine and red wine, but they remain a minority. Stop at the foot of the Sainte Victoire Mountain, and enjoy a breathtaking panorama.

The Côtes de Provence wine route

Much more extensive, the AOC Côtes de Provence is as large as it is diversified. Then discover the Bandol and Cassis vineyards, and along the Mediterranean coast. Take the opportunity to stop in Saint-Tropez, unless you prefer the calm of the areas of local winegrowers, near the Moors Massif or the Esterel Massif.

The Var Wine Route

Put yourself in the land of Provence, and discover the hillsides of the Varois in Provence, an appellation of controlled origin extended over 1,700 hectares and 30 municipalities. You will be marked by the reliefs of the Saint-Baume massif, where the vines are nestled and enjoy the sun.

Geography of the Wine Route in Provence

The Route des Vins en Provence will allow you to discover what makes the wines of Provence. The diversified relief, composed on the one hand of crystalline soils, and on the other hand of limestone soils, makes the beauty of the place, but also the quality of pink, red and white wines.

As for the Mediterranean climate, it is a major asset for the cultivation of the vine. With 2,800 hours of sunshine per year on average, and a mistral that refreshes the grapes, the Provencal vineyards then at their disposal all the elements to make an exceptional wine.
