The Languedoc-Roussillon Wine Route

From the Rhône valley to the Pyrenean foothills, each of the many roads in this region makes you cross landscapes of character where the built heritage competes, because of its interest, with the natural resources

Roussillon, for its part, brings together the Banyuls and Banyuls Grand Cru, the Collioure, them Côtes-du-Roussillon and Côtes-du-Roussillon-Villages, the Maury and Dry maury, the Muscat-de-Rivesaltes and the Rivesaltes.

For natural mild wines, the main grape varieties are the muscat with small grains, the Muscat of Alexandria, the Black Grenache, the White Grenache, the Grenache Gray, the Macabeu or the Tourbat, also called Malvoisie of Roussillon.

For traditional wines, We find the Sirah, the Mourvèdre, the Lledoner Pelut and the Carignan. On the Languedoc side, these are the Cabernet Franc, Cabernet-Sauvignon, Carignan, Grenache Noir, Merlot and Syrah for the Reds and the Rosés. Clairette, Bourboulenc, Grenache Blanc, Macabeu, Marsanne, Roussanne, Vermentino for the Whites. Muscat with small grains for natural mild wines.

From Montpellier, you go towards the Pic Saint-Wolf and Hérault terraces for a course of about eighty-five kilometers. You are in the name AOC Languedoc.

Le Minervois, from Narbonne to Carcassonne, region that welcomes three AOCs, Minervois, Minervois-la-Livinière and the Muscat of St-Jean-de-Minervois. After your visit to Narbonne, you continue towards Argeliers, St Jean de Minervois and La Livinière, where you stop enjoying Powerful and fruity reds. 

Departing from Perpignan, for a visit to the Côtes du Roussillon by paths in the heart of the vines that lead you to Rivesaltes, Vingrau, Tautavel, Bélesta and Thuir, known for its Byrrh cellars and their famous wine in Quinquina.
